Letter from my good friend, Dr. John Davis, Jr - John was a member of the United States Olympic Committee and was an executive with Phi Delta Theta, the fraternity I attended while at the University of Kansas.   At the time, I held records for the longest jumps in both the LJ and the TJ, for our fraternity across the US.  In addition, I was the ONLY athlete to be voted the outstanding performer at BOTH the Big 8 Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

The rest of the story:

After all the success achieved in both athletics and business, I found myself a broken man after years of alcohol and drug abuse. This resulted in my admission to a psychiatric facility here in Kansas City in the fall of 1989.  With no answers to all the issues I was dealing with personally, in my family and in my business, I really no longer had any answers.  At a moment of great weakness, as I contemplated suicide, I remembered the kindness of a realtor that had worked with us on the buying and selling of several homes.  I went to meet with her the following day, which was a Sunday, at a church here in Kansas City.  The message was on the Fatherheart of God out of Malachi 4:5/6.  The issues in my life that were directly related to not having a father in my formative years, as a child, were at the core of my issues.  As this verse was spoken, it was as if a white, hot sword pierced my being.  I felt a tremendous heat, like oil, pouring over my head first, and then down on my body.  In the midst of this powerful supernatural encounter, I desperately reached out to the Father in heaven for help, and was instantly converted...instantly delivered of alcoholism, drug addiction, sexual addictions, and demonic possession.  I have been serving the Lord, in the marketplace, since that day in January of 1990.  Jesus changed my life...and that was the greatest day of my life, even considering all of the athletic and business accomplishments.  Certainly, Jesus is the passion of my life and we want to help you experience his power....his love...his peace and his joy!
